We hear a lot that we should diversify, be well rounded, or not get too “in to” anything. Do you think Michael Jordan, Bill Gates, or Beethoven were not completely obsessed with their passion? What if they had listened to others say “take it easy” or it’s “too much”?
There is something magical about losing yourself in pursuit of your passion, where days and hours disappear because you are hyper focused on one effort with everything you have. Over time, this is how the greats of our day got so good at their endeavors. Let’s get obsessed about our next pursuit. It’s easy to say no to many of life’s comforts when you have a complete vision that you fully commit to.
As Dave Ramsey says, “Live like no one else, so later you can live like no one else.”

One day back in 2022, Spencer said in a staff meeting, “I want to think of a way to make billing a little nicer for our clients. Nobody likes to open a bill, especially for architectural services.” And thus, Spencerisms were born. That’s an internal name we initially gave these short notes Spencer writes to our clients each month, if they receive a bill. The name stuck, only because we couldn’t think of anything else that fit. We hope you’ll enjoy these bits of encouragement (or simple thoughts) Spencer shares each month.
