Ella Matsudaira

Architectural Designer

Manuella (Ella) was born in Tokyo, Japan and moved to Cornwall, Connecticut when she was 5 years old. She moved to Rhode Island to attend Rhode Island School of Design where she graduated with Honors in Architecture with a concentration in Literary Arts and Studies. Ella came to CDA in 2024 with experience in smaller firms in Connecticut and New York. When Ella is home in CT, she loves spending time with her siblings, her niece and nephew, and her 18 chickens.

Which degrees do you hold and from where did you earn them? Bachelors of Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design

What are some of the jobs you have held? I was a lifeguard at a beach for 7 years and never had to save anyone!

Where in the world would you like to explore? New Zealand

Where are some places you’ve visited? Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Monte Carlo, Dominican Republic

What item do you never leave home without? Chapstick and sunglasses

What is your favorite meal? My dad’s sushi with miso soup, shrimp/veggie tempura, and daikon salad
